AUBURN and CREAM tele type
Picture an old slab of German pine, chosen for its tonal properties, lightness and age. The grain was gnarly and intertwined. I knew that this would make a great body.
Pickups are handwound alnico 5 - classic vintage type with medium output. They are bright but not icepicky or shrill. The pine body and middy sounding neck rounds off the tone to make it meaty and dry with the typical tele bite and chime. Sustain is great.
What kind of a pickguard is that?
For this guitar I chose Japanes white Awabi - belongs to the abalone family. I love that rare white abalone - but awabi is beautiful in its own right. Its more colorful- gentle in its mixture of hues. The ripples are not as regular or as pronounced as those of White abalone. A light champagne color with lots of reflective colors.
The neck is a creamy amber tint with lots of class A flames, like all of my necks. Vintage beefy C shape, 10,5 radius. Its fast, comfortable and musical.
Now isn´t that the prettiest grain you have ever seen. I enhanced it again and again to make the grain "POP" at you.
