Start with a very old twopiece Sugar Pine body, light and resonant - only 1,8 Kg. The grain must be pretty to start with and the wood has to ring.
I enhanced the grain in many steps by staining a deep red, then sanding, staining and sanding and then working the grain with my airbrush. The result is a body that looks like a cross between Redwood
and Brazialian Rosewood: simply stunning.
Now look at that pickguard! Ever seen anything like it? I took white cream abalone and reworked and stained it to give it a deep dark rustic appeal. In sunlight it still shines in all colors. I matched the pickup covers to give it an overaul classy sleek look; Almost masculine.
I challenge some custom shop master builder to get this right.
The neck again a fine Grade A flamed maple tinted a deep amber. Locking tuners and pretty abalone stringtrees for that last final detail. The Pearlvibe logo is missing on this pic and will be added.
I spent lots of time "sweetening" the curves of this vintage strat type. It make the guitar feel silky sleek in your arms like a real old strat. You can see those curves on the photos.
Still all vintage measurements.I kept the lacquer very very thin: 2 coats of nitro sanded down and then only two thin coats of urethane - buffed to a paper thin glasslike coat.
